The company's roots are deep in Oulu, where efforts have been made for the well-being of one's own, close circle and especially young athletes for more than 40 years. In addition to adequate sleep and exercise, the importance of nutrition has been at the center of thinking about what constitutes a person's holistic well-being. There was a desire to know how much vitamins, minerals, and proteins you get from the food you eat - even when you follow the recommendations of the nutrition pyramid. User's personal experience of the importance of the right content-rich diet for health and well-being has served as a stimulus to create a method that allows each of us to have information about the nutrient density of our own diet in addition to the calorie monitoring.

The roots of computational implementation lie in the research of learning and intelligent methods of the Control Engineering Group of the University of Oulu for more than 30 years . Our own development environments are central in building versatile applications for industry and environmental solutions. Inspired by the synergies of the applications, the same methods were used in nutrition computing. More than 10 years ago, a fuzzy expert system was built, in which nutrition knowledge and recommendations were built using fuzzy rules. Uncertainties and inaccuracies in the data, as well as possible inconsistencies in the recommendations, are handled using fuzzy logic. The numerical solution is based on a meal diary and food composition data, as well as genetic algorithms that can handle the resulting large search space. In a complex solution, it is better to be roughly right than exactly wrong.

We entrepreneurs strongly believe that our experience encourages all regardless of age, gender, diet and life situation to enjoy nutritious food. Even a small step can be a step for the better.

From these starting points, a personal service has been developed that takes into account life situations and lifestyles and interprets the nutrients received during the day in plain language. The desire to make life easier with food has led us to bring food recipes and easy-to-read recommendations into the service. We do not claim anything, and we do not believe in isms. We rely on everyone’s subjective assessment of their own well-being. We are supportive. At the same time, we can indirectly contribute to climate change mitigation.
